Herne Hill Youth Cycle Club

Run by parents

Volunteer

HHYCC is run entirely by volunteers who coach, fix bikes, take the register, raise funds and support kids at races.

Almost all volunteers are parents who wanted to get involved. The club will fund any cycling and first-aid training needed, but many roles need no training or regular commitment. Above all, it's fun — many volunteers stay on long after their children have grown up.

Could you help us?

  • Train as a cycling coach — we'll fund your British Cycling coaching course
  • Be an assistant coach — lay out cones, carry equipment, help fit helmets
  • Help with publicity or printing
  • Mend punctures and help our mechanics
  • Check and hand out bikes
  • Take the register
  • Help raise funds to buy bikes and pay the rent

Supported by fees and donations

We keep fees low to make the club accessible to all — that just about covers the Velodrome rent. Keeping bikes and helmets working relies on donations and local funding.

  • Can you help apply for community funding?
  • Can you donate on top of the £15 membership?
  • Does your work run a donation scheme?
  • Can you sponsor us?

Please consider completing a Gift Aid form — ask at registration or email us.
